Micro-sclerotherapy

Spider or thread veins are small, unsightly, superficial veins found in clusters, generally on the legs. They are found in about half of all adults. Many people are concerned about the cosmetic appearance; and they can also cause itching, burning, aching and cramps.

We treat them with a procedure known as Micro-sclerotherapy. This involves injecting solution (sclerosant), with a very fine needle, into the vein. The solution causes inflammation, thereby closing or destroying the vein. 

To achieve the best results, the veins then need to be compressed with a special bandage for about 10-14 days. Like any other medical procedure, results can vary and some clients may need multiple sessions. Our doctor will advise you during your initial assessment.
